Education Meeting

MONDAY 23th APRIL
Education Meeting – Looking forward to the future! (**IMPORTANT**)

We are hoping to have a short meeting to discuss the future of education in the Islamic Society in the upcoming years. It is imperative that anybody who has any experience in Islamic Education whether it be the weekly classes with Sheikh Ibrahim and Sheikh Haroon, Essentials/Tajweed classes or any other form attend and put forward their point of view in what they would like to see moving forward

Even if you have not attended any classes in the ISOC we would like to hear from you in how we can best cater for the needs of Muslims on campus and we stress your input would be invaluable insha’Allah. All are welcome!

The Hub (2nd floor), Guild of Students at 6:30-7.30pm prompt insha’Allah

Accommodation For Freshers

Assalaamu alaikum dear freshers!

We understand that moving away from home can be (very!) daunting, but LivISoc want to make it as easy as possible for you!
Unfortunately, quite a few of the University Halls in Liverpool, are quite a distance away (and not always the cleanest of places!),so if you don’t fancy the bus ride every morning and would prefer to live with some fellow Muslims, Alhumdulillah there is plenty of private accommodation within walking distance of the campus!
So, if you’re considering Liverpool (it is definately the place to be!), then please contact us below, and insha’Allah we will be able to put you in contact with some other freshers who are also looking for a place to live, and offer you any advice you may need!
Ja zakAllahu khairan and all the best with results insha’Allah!

”Ten Things I Want To Tell Young People”

by Jashim Ali

Assalamu Alaikum (peace be with you),

My list is derived primarily from my own experience of dealing and working with young people. It is in no way an exhaustive list…

Ten things that I want to tell young people (in no particular order):

1.   Set Goals in Life – Set yourself targets in life and strive hard to meet them. See it as a challenge, like wanting to get to the next level on a computer game or wanting to win the next football match. Make sure the targets areSMART and set targets for all spheres of your life including school life, work life, religious life, social life and all other facets of the complicated lives that we lead. Ask yourself where you would like to see yourself in 5/10/15 years time and work towards achieving those things that you want in life, both worldly and other worldly. Continually review your goals updating them as necessary. (more…)

Prayers For Our Brothers and Sisters in Syria

As salamu alaykum brothers and sisters

Jumu’ah Mubarak.

On this blessed day let us make du’a for the people of Syria, Palestine, Yemen and all around the world insha’Allah. Let us not forgot our dear brothers and sisters in our prayers.

Nu`man bin Bashir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah  said, “The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion and sympathy are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever”.

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
