President – Siddiq Mitha |
I am a third year medical student from Bolton. I have been part of the Isoc since my first year, and was the vice president last year. Joining the Isoc was probably the best decision I’ve made; ‘it is the choices that make us who we are, and we can always choose to do what’s right’. Apart from being Indian and from Bolton, there’s nothing left to say after that.

Aslaamolaiukm. Let me be the first to welcome you to the University of Liverpool. University makes or breaks a person; it is up to you which route you want to take. It is easy to fall away from Islam but on the other hand, in Liverpool the Isoc will make it easy for you to grow in your Islam. You must take advantage of the learning opportunities available to you. We are all looking forward to meeting you.

As-salaamualaikum. Im a second year student studying politics and international business. My first year at LivISOC was amazing mashallah. I met many wonderful people through events and classes who helped me through my uni experience. Starting university may seem daunting at times but as long as you stay on top of your work, stick to the right crowd and never compromise who you are then you will be fine. I pray you all have a fruitful year and I look forward to meeting you all soon.

Assalamualaikum. I am a 2nd year dental student from Manchester. My role in LivIsoc to help the core committee in decision making and also, overseeing the committee as a whole, being a supportive figure. My first year in Liverpool was really good Alhamdulillah a, due mainly to the fact that there is such a diverse mix of people and Muslims who came together by means of the Isoc; therefore, I personally encourage everyone to join as it proved very beneficial to me.

Asalaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatahu. Congratulations on reaching university, I pray that Allah continues to guide you through your academic studies. Undoubtedly university is a big step, not knowing how things work, who people are, or where to go; but who says you have to go through it alone. We as a society are here to help with any problems you may have, remembering that we once were in your shoes too. Join the Islamic Society let us be your family, let us be your friends.
